A former sandpit that has partially scrubbed over. It has a large open glade, a number of ponds and lakes, some of which are fished, and a network of paths. It also has some sandy areas that are low in nutrients and consequently support a wide variety of trees, shrubs and flowering plants. This includes bluebells and wood anemones, some plants that are now very scarce and also quite a few garden 'escapes' – in fact a real mixed bag.
